...Rolex Super Coolness...
John F. Kennedy Jr.
1960-1999
Stainless Steel Rolex Submariner
When I started Jake's Rolex World I wanted to try and find photos of all the cool people who wear Rolex watches. There were certain people I always wished to find wearing Rolex watches, like Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Pablo Picasso, but I could never find them. Then somehow, one day, I am looking at a photo of them wearing Rolex watches, and this is always a huge thrill.
Note: In the photo above of The First Family, JFK with Jackie, Caroline and JFK Jr., pose on August 4, 1962 at Hyannis Port. Notice JFK is wearing his Cartier Tank wristwatch. Very cool...
In the past, I published photos of other Kennedy relatives wearing Rolex watches, including JFK Jr's sister Caroline Kennedy as well as his cousin Maria Shriver. I also heard that President Kennedy's brother Bobby Kennedy wore a Rolex Submariner, but I have not yet been able to find a photo of him wearing a Rolex. I know Ted Kennedy Jr. wears a Rolex Submarine and I will publish photos of him wearing them in the future.
The next three images of JFK Sr., and JFK Jr., appear courtesy of the estate of Stanley Tretick. Stanley Tretick was a Look Magazine photographer.

Years ago, in Part 9 of The Complete History Of The Rolex President I published photos of a Rolex President (Day-Date) that Marilyn Monroe supposedly gave to JFK while he was the President.
I always hoped to find photos of JFK Jr. wearing a Rolex, but in never happened, at least not until recently as you can see in the two photos below. I realize this is not the best photographic evidence, but I can say with 100% certainty that JFK Jr. is wearing a stainless steel Rolex Submariner (or SEA-DWELLER), as we can see from the Rolex Oyster bracelet he is wearing in the two photos below.
In the close up photo below, we see not only a Rolex Oyster bracelet, but also you can clearly see the flip-lock clasp, which was exclusive to the Rolex Submariner when this photo was taken. In the close up you can also see the distinctive and unmistakeable Submariner engraving lines on the clasp. Hopefully one day in the future, I will be able to update this story with photos of JFK Jr's Submariner taken from the front.
I included the photo below of a first generation LV Submariner Rolex Oyster bracelet with the flip-lock clasp, being worn on the right wrist just like JFK Jr. in the photos above. You can see, if you study both images closely that they are the same. The only difference is the one JFK Jr. is wearing in the photo above is about 20 years older.
JFK Jr. is pictured below with his wife Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. I remember once watching a Charlie Rose interview with author Pete Hamill who was talking about JFK and JFK Jr, and how much as a society we idolized them, and how unfortunate that both father and son left this world long before their full potential could be realized.

Peter Hamill quoted Irish Poet, William Butler Yeats 1919 poem named "In Memory of Major Robert Gregory" which he argued was on-point for JFK and JFK Jr, with the last line in the 11th stanza which read:
Here is the Charlie Rose interview from July 22, 1999 of Pete Hamill I mentioned above, where Pete Hamill talks about the passing of JFK Jr. I remember watching this when it originally aired in 1999. Pete Hamill gets super-deep in this interview and he talks about the famous William Saroyan line from 1939 "The Time Of Your Life" that said:
"In the time of your life, live–so that in that wondrous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it."
– William Saroyan (1939)
